Online Community Safety Accreditation Scheme success: Daventry Town Centre Partnership

Daventry CTP

Members of the Daventry Town Centre Partnership have become one of the initial organisations to celebrate success via the TFS online CSAS training portal. SIA accredited staff collected a comprehensive operational portfolio before sitting the final assessment stage which comprised of a number of key scenario based essay style questions.

Environmental and Business Crime Coordinator and fellow delegate Phil Drage said, “I was very impressed with the online process which resulted in no staff absence since individual study plans were completed within work schedules. The online portal was easy to navigate and I would definitely recommend this solution for any organisation that wishes to benefit from the Home Office approved scheme that is designed to develop the skill base of organisations like ours that form an important part of the wider policing family.”

Rob McHarg, Operations Director, TFS added, “I am extremely impressed with the effort that Phil and the team displayed during the programme which did not interfere with operational capability. On the job training has got to be one of the most effective ways of achieving a significant return on investment and I look forward to presenting the Skills for Security accredited certificates.”

The qualification is a blend of theoretical and practical learning which will ensure that prospective Accredited Persons have a clear understanding of a number of key areas including: the powers that may be available to them, principles of crime reduction and problem solving, the use of communications equipment and how to apply conflict management skills.
